profhilo

What is profhilo?

Profilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable Hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity.

With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml), it not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.

Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetic treatments currently on.

We inject Profhilo into specific points across the face, using the BAP technique. Once injected the product immediately starts spreading throughout the skin.

Benefits of profhilo

Benefits all age groups and improves acne scarring, dull complexion, sagging skin, jowling, fine lines and wrinkles.

Improves skin laxity and skin quality, common areas to treat include; the face, neck, décolletage, hands, and inner arms.

Will leave the skin feeling hydrated and visibly glowing and firm.

  • As a stabilised product Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

  • We recommend 2 treatments 4-6 weeks apart, the first to stimulate, the second to ‘boost’ and ensure longevity. We then recommend a top up treatment every 6-9 months.

  • All make-up will be removed from the area to be treated so wear no make-up or minimal make-up to the appointment.

Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before (and after) the procedure.

Discontinue blood thinning medication 7 days prior to treatment, as they may increase the risk of bruising, this includes aspirin and ibuprofen (please check with your Dr before stopping prescribed medication). Also avoid St John’s Wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, Vitamins C and E 24 hours before treatment.

Avoid using topical products such as Tretinoin, Retinols and Glycolic Acid 3 days prior treatment.

Contact clinic prior to treatment if you have any illness such as colds, coughs or sore throat or any skin infections.

Contact the clinic if you have any other procedures planned such as facials and dental appointments.

Arnica tablets can be taken 3 days before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Ensure you have had something to eat prior to treatment to decrease the chances of light-headedness.

  • You may have redness, and bruising is possible and may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising.

Avoid wearing make-up 12 hours after treatment

Avoid sunbathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post-treatment.

Avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours

Contact the clinic if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days, rather than settling.
