dermal fillers
What is dermal filler?
Dermal fillers are soft injectable gels consisting of stabilised hyaluronic acid (HA), a biodegradable substance naturally found within the body. HA is a component of the skin that keeps it hydrated and gives it elasticity and volume.
Facial fillers can improve and enhance your appearance in a variety of ways. We can target specific areas of the face or create small βtweaksβ to a combination of areas for an overall more balanced appearance.
As we age, we lose volume to the fat pads, which causes sagging to the mid and lower face overall affecting facial structure.
Facial fillers can restore volume to hollow areas for a more youthful and lifted appearance or can be used to define and/or contour bone structure.
Dermal fillers replenish your skins hyaluronic acid flooding the skin with moisture to boost hydration.

Dermal filler can last from 6-24 months depending on a number of factors such as; the area treated, the particular filler used and your own metabolism which will vary between individuals. The length of time stated for individual types of filler is that provided by the manufacturer as being typical rates, therefore Derma Plus (nor the manufacture) cannot be held liable for the rate you, as an individual, may process the filler. Some clients still have filler after 2 years but others process filler much quicker than the typical stated time.

The dermal fillers we offer have a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) incorporated in them to minimise discomfort. We also use a fantastic numbing cream and only start the treatment once you feel completely numb. If you are allergic to lidocaine we can use fillers that do not contain this ingredient.

We only work with the highest quality dermal fillers, all of which integrate with the tissue under the skin creating a soft natural result that does not affect facial expression. We carry out the procedure in stages and allow you to have a look at each stage to give you more control over the final result and to ensure you leave 100% happy.

We assess the face artistically and only recommend treatments that are guaranteed to harmonise facial features, increase facial symmetry and add balance. You will have an in-depth consultation with our medical practitioner prior to treatment and together you can decide on a treatment plan. The clinician will endeavour to give you your desired outcomes from one treatment, but this is not always possible and subsequent treatments might be required, incurring additional costs. The clinician will ensure the filler is entirely smooth when you leave the clinic, and will give instructions as to how to minimise the risk of the filler aggregating, (which clients need to follow after treatment). Unfortunately in a few cases clients only discover they are prone to process filler this way, once the lumps have developed.
